When I can't see Christ for the Christians
it's time for me-- to pray: 
when I can't love ev'rybody
for obstacles thrown in my way. 
His own disciples betrayed-- him
and it's no dif'rent today---. 
When I can't see Christ for the Christians

When I can't play "follow-the-leader" 
'cause the leader is up to no good 
twisting the words-- of Jesus 
for tributes of money and blood.
When war is a tool of relig--ion
to steal, kill and betray---.
When I can't see Christ for the Christians
it's time for me-- to pray.

When I can't see Christ for religion:
dogmatic and frozen in time,
when only its contradictions enter into my mind,
I-- can still-- be grate--ful
for the blessings of each day---.
When I can't see Christ for the Christians

Can the Jews and Moslems/Muslims apply their own beliefs
to their own everyday lives any better than Christians:
Protestants, Catholics, Quakers, Orthodox, Unitarians, etc???
